We're switching gears this month. Progressive Aggressive (in all of it's album art typo glory) is no more. Enter, The David Akermanis Podcast.

In reality, the show isn't that much different aside from a re-brand. But, the new name is reflective of a pretty drastic evolution in my musical taste since I launched the show in 2007.

Between my new Speedboats & Big Explosions project and where my musical taste has gone, I spend a great deal more time listening to, and producing, house music than I do trance or progressive. That being said, I do remain committed to providing you all with an early look in to the great music coming out from labels like Silk Music and Macarize on a monthly basis.

So, there is a bit of everything in the show now, and it is still a continuous mix - it's just less narrowly focused on melodic progressive music. That's all! Let me know what you think of the new format - I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.

This is the latest I've ever published the show before, so I've decided to combine the June & July shows and lengthen things a little bit. To be honest with you all, I've been debating whether or not to continue the podcast or whether I should switch up the format.

Melodic Progressive House (although I love it) isn't really a part of my live performances anymore, and I have been investing a lot of my time in a new project called Speedboats & Big Explosions. My taste in electronic music is pretty broad as well, so I've been toying with the idea of playing a much broader selection of tunes.

I'm really interested in hearing what everyone actually thinks about this? Should I keep it the same? Would you be open to a change in format? Do you have any ideas? Drop me a line!

May's episode has been out on soundcloud for a few days now, but for those of you that are hearing this for the first time sorry for the delay!

I've been wrapped up in the Edelman Toronto Little give for the last few days. This year me and my team had 48 hours to put together a plan on behalf of the Remix Project. Not only did was this a great experience but we were able to achieve a great deal in a really short period of time. A truly rewarding experience and only the beginning since a number of us, including myself, will be donating our time in the weeks and months to come to support their social enterprise arm Blackboard Marketing.
